We also recognize that producing an intentionally intimate festival, with attendance capped at 1,000 women, while creating meaningful opportunities for our community requires considerable financial resources.Our approach is rooted in transparency, reciprocity, and the circulation of resources within our community. Our gathering recognizes the value of women's contributions while remaining honest about what our festival can sustainably provide.Our Presenter Exchange:With more than 100 presenters contributing to Wild Roses each year, and festival attendance intentionally capped at 1,000 women, our current financial model does not allow us to offer direct speaking fees to every presenter.Rather than charging presenters to take the stage, we offer an exchange that includes:Complimentary full festival admission, plus access to a half-price assistant ticket.A 5% commission on eligible full-price festival ticket sales generated through our optional affiliate program.A curated gift bag featuring women-owned businesses, valued at over $500.A Friday presenters' celebration to honour their contributions and foster connection.Professional headshots.Promotional opportunities through Wild Roses channels, reaching a combined audience of over 25,000.A $150 travel stipend for eligible presenters travelling from outside Alberta.A 25% discount on Marketplace & Healer's Village rental feesWe recognize that festival admission, gifts, visibility, and potential commissions are not equivalent to direct financial compensation for labour. We believe it's important to be transparent about that distinction.For returning presenters, we also offer a limited number of instructor opportunities, where women can facilitate specialized workshops and charge attendees for participation. These opportunities are not guaranteed, but we generally prioritize women who have previously contributed to Wild Roses when considering instructor applications.We deeply value the women who choose to contribute to Wild Roses and recognize that this exchange may not be suitable for everyone. We encourage each applicant to consider whether the opportunity aligns with their time, resources, and professional needs before applying.Keeping resources in women's hands:Beyond our stages, Wild Roses brings together women-owned businesses, artists, makers, educators, practitioners, and entrepreneurs who share their work with our community. Our Marketplace, Healers Village, Food Village, paid workshops, and collaborative experiences create opportunities for women to connect with new audiences, build relationships, and generate income through their offerings.We recognize that these opportunities involve different forms of exchange, including business expenses, participation fees, and the investment of time and labour. We do not assume that every opportunity creates an equal financial benefit for everyone involved.Our broader vision is to cultivate an environment where women are not only attendees and consumers, but also creators, business owners, educators, and contributors to the festival experience.We believe that purchases, partnerships, commissions, scholarships, and opportunities to collaborate can help circulate resources within our community.Our aspiration is not simply to host a successful event, but to contribute to an ecosystem in which women can build meaningful connections, share their gifts, and flourish beyond the festival grounds.

We love the mystical. We also love the truth.Wild Roses has always made space for mystery, intuition, ritual, and the less tangible dimensions of being human. We recognize that spirituality can offer meaning, connection, beauty, and a sense of belonging to something greater than ourselves.We also believe spiritual spaces have a responsibility to practise discernment. The wellness industry is not immune to misinformation, manipulation, exaggerated promises, or the commercialization of people's vulnerabilities.As Wild Roses has evolved, so has our approach to spiritual programming. We have intentionally placed greater emphasis on embodied movement, somatic education, creative expression, hands-on learning, practical skill-building, and offerings that attendees can meaningfully integrate into everyday life. We continue to welcome spiritual offerings, but we expect them to be facilitated with humility, integrity, and appropriate training.On spiritual bypassing:Spiritual bypassing occurs when spiritual beliefs or language are used to avoid uncomfortable emotions, difficult conversations, or personal accountability.It can sound like telling someone that everything happens for a reason when they are grieving, encouraging someone to raise their vibration when they are experiencing injustice, or suggesting that a person has manifested their own suffering. These ideas can minimize real pain and place responsibility for harm on the person experiencing it.At Wild Roses, we reject the idea that growth must always look positive, peaceful, or transcendent. There is room here for grief. For anger. For uncertainty. For difficult questions. For the experiences that cannot be neatly resolved by a mantra or affirmation.We believe spirituality should deepen our relationship with reality, not become a means of escaping it.Our standards for facilitators:We ask facilitators to represent their experience and credentials accurately, communicate the scope of their offerings, respect participant consent, and avoid making unsupported medical or therapeutic claims. No presenter should suggest that their offering can replace appropriate medical treatment, mental health care, or professional support.

We honour traditions by honouring the people, histories, and communities who carry them.Wild Roses is a gathering where women share many forms of knowledge, including herbalism, movement, spirituality, ancestral practices, ceremony, art, and healing traditions. We recognize that many of these practices carry deep cultural significance, and that some have histories of suppression, appropriation, and commercialization.Our commitment to cultural stewardship is rooted in two intentions: to protect the integrity of cultural traditions and to create meaningful opportunities for the communities whose knowledge and practices have sustained them. When curating culturally rooted offerings, we intentionally prioritize practitioners from communities of origin, while recognizing that knowledge can also be shared respectfully across cultures through meaningful relationships, mentorship, and appropriate permission.We ask vendors and facilitators to be transparent about the origins of their practices, their training and teachers, their cultural relationships, and any relevant protocols or permissions. We also consider how offerings are represented, how materials are sourced, and whether the communities whose knowledge informs the work are acknowledged and supported.Our intention is not to police cultural identity or discourage respectful cultural exchange. It is to ensure that the traditions shared at Wild Roses are approached with integrity, care, and reciprocity.Applications are considered individually, and Wild Roses reserves the right to request further information or decline offerings that do not align with these principles.

Wild Roses receives hundreds of thoughtful applications each year, and our programming team carefully considers each offering in relation to the festival's vision, available spaces, and overall experience.Our selection process considers the relevance and quality of the proposed offering, the applicant's experience and ability to facilitate their work, alignment with our community values, cultural stewardship, and the balance of perspectives, disciplines, and experiences represented across the festival.We are intentional about curating a diverse and complementary program that creates opportunities for both established and emerging voices.Our application process considers several dimensions, including experience, relevant education or training, the quality and integrity of an offering, alignment with festival values, and the needs of each year's programming. We also invite applicants to voluntarily share aspects of their identity that may help us better understand representation across our festival. This information is treated with care and is not used as a substitute for evaluating qualifications or the substance of an application.We believe diverse representation and thoughtful curation strengthen one another.Because our programming spaces are limited, not every application can be accepted. A declined application is not necessarily a reflection of an applicant's abilities or the value of their work.We are grateful to everyone who offers their gifts for consideration.

As part of our presenter and performer exchange, Wild Roses offers an exclusive opportunity for presenters and performers to earn a 5% commission on eligible full-price festival ticket sales through our affiliate program.Presenters and performers can sign up through our affiliate channel to receive a unique referral link, which they can share with their community through social media, newsletters, websites, or personal invitations.Here's how it works:Your unique link: Once registered, you'll receive a custom URL that tracks ticket purchases referred through your link.7-day tracking window: When someone clicks your link, a tracking cookie is activated for seven days. If they purchase an eligible festival ticket within that period, the sale will be attributed to your referral, provided the tracking cookie remains active.5% commission: You'll earn 5% of each eligible full-price festival ticket purchase.Commission payouts: Earned commissions are paid out within 7–10 days following the festival.Please note: Affiliate commissions apply only to eligible full-price festival tickets purchased outright. Tickets purchased through payment plans, assistant passes, and volunteer deposits are not eligible for commission.This opportunity is exclusive to presenters and performers. Instructors are not eligible for the affiliate program, as they have a separate opportunity to generate income through facilitating paid workshops at the festival.Participation in the affiliate program is entirely optional. Approval emails will be sent out on, or before, January 15, 2027. Your approval email will contain all the details to confirm you as a Wild Roses Presenter, Performer or Instructor. If you are approved as an Instructor, rental fees for your space are due January 31.

We are so thrilled to be able to offer travel stipends for all Presenters and Performers coming from outside of Alberta. If you reside outside of Alberta, please ensure that is clearly indicated in your 'address' portion of your application form. We will be giving a $150 preloaded Visa card at festival on the VIP gathering to all qualifying persons in efforts to offset travel fees associated with travelling to the festival grounds.

We appreciate the time and care that goes into every application. Due to the volume of submissions and the limited capacity of our team, we are not able to provide individualized feedback on every application. Applicants are welcome to apply again in future years, as our programming needs and available opportunities evolve from one festival to the next.

We encourage instructors and presenters to carry their workshop on their own as we are not always able to accommodate collaborative workshops or presentations with 2 or more people.

The 'Somatic Activation' or more simply put, 'Trigger Warning' helps for us to understand the level of content you intend on sharing. At Wild Roses Festival, we have a diverse audience from beginner level (this is their first time ever attending an event like this!) all the way to practitioners who are well versed in the work. By understanding the possible activation your presentation can invoke, we can: Create awareness for all festival participants about the level of content they may be exposed to so that they can make an informed decision about what feels right for them to attend. Allows us to prepare our team of spaceholders to be readily available for assisting in post presentation integration, should it be needed.

Absolutely. If you are selected as a instructor or performer after you've purchased a ticket, we will refund you.

The VIP night is a celebration that occurs on the Friday afternoon of the festival. This is a great opportunity for us to meet and mingle with our incredible crew of guides and facilitators, get your headshots and shower you in gratitude and gratis!

Our private workshop instructors charge anywhere depending on the content. Ceremonies and circles usually range between $30-$60, where hands on crafting workshops usually charge upwards to $60-80 depending on cost of supplies and length of duration. We are always happy to work with you to set a meaningful price that will successfully sell out your event!

When accepted, we will instruct you to add a registration page to your existing website. You will take your own payments and manage your own registrations.

We have full audio equipment which consists of cordless, head set microphones for all of the stages. We do not have audio equipment in the Bloom Tent (except for a bluetooth speaker for you to plug in your own music). Our Boho Barn has stand microphones. We do not have any visual set up at any of the stages for slide shows.
