APPLY TO BE ON THE

MEDIA TEAM

HELP US CAPTURE THE MAGIC.

At the heart of the Wild Roses Festival lies a unique and transformative journey.
We’re on a mission to encapsulate the essence and energy of the festival going beyond visuals to evoke the full experience.

We’re assembling a select team of media-savvy women to join us in this endeavor, handling photography, videography, and social media storytelling with heart and soul.

Each year, the Wild Roses Festival unites a powerful group of creatives. We are the largest all-female media team in North America led by Media Head, Sofia Katherine.

Our team is known not only for the quality of our work but for how we approach it: with sensitivity, respect, and care. The festival is deeply emotional and intimate, and our coverage honors that space.

What makes this team truly special is its diversity. We welcome both established professionals and emerging creatives photographers, videographers, editors and post-production assistants alike. Each year blends mentorship and growth, with pre-festival training in photojournalism and the nuances of documenting sensitive environments.

This is more than a media team — it’s a community of women learning, creating, and telling stories that move people.

"I‘ve volunteered on the media for the past two years, and they have been the most incredible experiences. I was a brand new photographer when I applied the first year and this has played a HUGE role to starting my photography business. The festival itself is inviting, warm and nurturing, and if you volunteer on the media team you get a taste of just about everything. I’ve learned so much about photography in general, but also what my personal style is and what I like shooting. And then, there’s Sofia and Sheri, who I can’t say enough good things about. They are the most supportive women and have held my hand through these last two years when it comes to photography and have always lifted me up. I’m most grateful for the other creatives that I’ve met through this journey and the amazing women I’ve had the opportunity to photograph. I can’t wait for next year, and hope to see you there!"

MEDIA APPLICATIONS

We are seeking digital storytellers.

Availability must be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for shifts on each day.

Volunteer photographer, videographer and student positions are offered in exchange for 4 hours per day (shifts determined by the media head), for a total of 12 hours during festival hours in exchange for full admission and participation. Some shifts may be split into two parts.

Our Media Hub positions require a total of 10 volunteer hours instead of 12, as these are more specialized technical roles with focused production time.

Due to the vulnerable nature of the festival, Media Team Volunteers must approach all imagery, video, and stories with sensitivity and respect. We also host a pre-festival training on documenting sensitivities and storytelling ethics, which all media members are highly encouraged to attend.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

Once accepted (you’ll receive an acceptance letter via email), confirm your placement by paying a $200 deposit. If you’ve already purchased a ticket, it will be refunded after the event.
Media Volunteers who have participated 2+ years in a row will be automatically grandmothered in without a deposit. No refunds will be issued for cancellations less than 30 days before the event or for no-shows.
