Lauren LaRose

CEO, Founder

Lauren LaRose is a community builder, clinical herbalist, women’s health advocate and creative visionary whose work sits at the intersection of nature, healing, and sisterhood. As the founder of Wild Roses Apothecary and Wild Roses Festival, her mission is to help women return to their natural rhythm — restoring connection to self, the earth, and one another through plant medicine, ritual, and community.

Her journey began in 2010, when she emerged as a budding herbalist deeply passionate about women’s health. Lauren began teaching workshops on plant medicine while working clinically alongside integrative medicine practitioners, doctors, and midwives at the Lucina Birthing Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. During this time, she also became a highly sought-after doula, supporting hundreds of families through the sacred transitions of birth and postpartum with compassion, wisdom, and grounded care.

It was during these early years that Wild Roses Apothecary was born — a small-batch botanical brand rooted in Lauren’s love of herbs and holistic wellness. What began as a table at local farmers markets quickly blossomed into a thriving apothecary, with her handcrafted remedies appearing at wellness expos, artisan fairs, and homes across Canada.

In 2018 Lauren co-founded MOONWELL, a women’s collective focused on empowering women through ritual, ceremony and whole wellness. For five years, Lauren held new moon circles and seasonal gatherings that became a sanctuary for women seeking grounding, connection, and healing. Through ceremony and storytelling, she witnessed firsthand the power of women gathering in intention - a thread that continues to weave through all of her work today.

Wild Roses Festival was born in 2021 from a place of Lauren’s own healing - a moment of rebirth after experiencing postpartum depression with her second daughter. What began with intent for a small potluck among mothers and friends became something extraordinary. The gathering went viral, drawing hundreds of women from across Canada who felt called to be part of the movement. What intended to be a small gathering for women to connect after the COVID-19 pandemic evolved into a full-scale festival planned in just 2 weeks. Today, that humble vision has grown into Canada’s largest women’s festival, a powerful movement that continues to inspire and unite women globally.

Lauren is a proud Métis woman whose work is deeply rooted in social justice, community care, and the empowerment of women. Guided by her heritage and an unwavering commitment to equity, she has become a passionate advocate for Indigenous communities and women’s rights both locally and globally.
Through her companies and community initiatives, Lauren has raised tens of thousands of dollars in support of causes close to her heart, including Indigenous-led organizations, supporting women in Palestine, and reproductive rights initiatives. Her dedication to using her platforms for impact reflects her belief that healing is not only individual but collective - that when women rise, communities rise with them.

Her ongoing advocacy continues to weave through everything she creates, ensuring that Wild Roses remains not just a brand or a festival, but a movement - one that uplifts, gives back, and honors the interconnectedness of all women and the lands they call home.
