Sofia Katherine

Sofia Katherine is an accomplished photographer, filmmaker, and creative leader with over fifteen years of experience capturing large-scale events, concerts, and stories that come alive after dark. A longtime advocate for women in the arts, she brings both vision and mentorship to every project she leads.

After attending Wild Roses Festival as a vendor in its second year, Sofia felt deeply called to be part of its evolution. She went on to pitch and build the festival’s media vision, now leading North America’s largest all-female media team. Through her guidance, the team has grown into a space of empowerment, collaboration, and creative excellence.

Beyond the festival Sofia is the founder of Illuminate, an annual workshop that teaches female photographers the art of shooting in the dark both technically and metaphorically. She believes creativity is a form of reclamation and that women shine brightest when given the space to find their own.
