WADJIT

Wadjit has been a staple in Western Canadian drum and bass for well over a decade. Like many that came before her, Wadjit got her start by buying a set of turntables and spending countless hours on the decks until it clicked. In Wadjit’s case, her friends pushed her to play out early by putting her on the bill, forcing her into the spotlight quite literally.

It wasn’t long until Wadjit was regularly performing on drum and bass’ legendary radio station, Bassdrive, with her weekly show Rinse N Wash. Almost a decade strong, Rinse N Wash solidified Wadjit’s place on the international stage with an international crowd.

Her journey on Bassdrive all began with a trip to SUNANDBASS, drum and bass’ premiere festival in San Teodoro, Italy, where Bassdrive has a yearly takeover featuring both personalities from the radio station as well as big names in the genre. Shortly after her first trip to SUNANDBASS, Wadjit started Rinse N Wash, and quickly followed up her radio show with a second trip to SUNANDBASSS that included a set during Bassdrive’s takeover.

SUNANDBASS was a unique opportunity for Wadjit, as drum and bass royalty is never far from any stage. Performing with living legends in close proximity, SUNANDBASS was a catalyst to Wadjit graduating to world stages and honing a more seamless craft. As well as meeting worldwide fans, Rinse N Wash, and Bassdrive led to Wadjit bringing her darker edged but up-tempo and dancefloor friendly sound to several other European countries since 2012.
