Andrea Yacyshyn & Leanne Keyko
Andrea Yacyshyn (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary mover and shaker pulling from her extensive background in movement and in manual therapy. After a vast dance career, she became a massage therapist and set out to change the way we think about and move our bodies. Wanting to offer her clients a more comprehensive experience, she created classes that pull from the science of rehabilitative movement, the foundations of pilates, the creative expression of dance, and soothing somatic movement principles.
Leanne Keyko (she/her) has an extensive background within health and wellness spanning nearly two decades. Fuelled by a deep curiosity to understand people, the body and this human experience, her career has been an ever-evolving journey. Beginning with Kinesiology and then Nursing, she gained experience within metabolic and neurological disorders, obstetrics and women’s health, as well as adult and pediatric mental health. Although Nursing afforded her many valuable skills and opportunities, there was always a deep sense that something was missing. For years Leanne felt drawn to Eastern philosophy and energy-based healing modalities. It was ultimately within this realm that she experienced the greatest success within her own health and wellbeing. Inspired by personal experiences and wanting to share these practices with others, she completed the Diploma in Acupuncture, including a 700-hour residency, at the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Leanne and Andrea fatefully met in 2021 and started working together in 2024. After Andrea posted an Instagram story asking "do you want to take a class where you just lie down?" (and received enthusiastic replies of YES!) they dreamt up The Lie Down Club. They wanted to offer a space where people could truly unwind, recenter themselves and rest while receiving care in a community setting. When they're not teaching (or lying down), you can find them treating clients at Elementum Wellness Collective.
The Lie Down Club: Yin + Pin
This class was designed as a way to deeply support and nourish your nervous system. We start with slow gentle movement led by Andrea that allows you to sink into rest. Once we’re comfortable, Leanne will add in some acupuncture needles and Andrea will offer light supportive touch as you drift off to a yoga nidra created by Leanne. Ears seeds will be offered as a way to keep the good vibes going for the rest of the festival!
Please note that ear seeds, acupuncture points, and hands on touch are all optional and consent will be confirmed prior to proceeding.
Cost: $50
