Teri Hofford

Teri Hofford is a body image educator, photographer & author who uses creative experiences such as photoshoots, workshop, retreats, & events to encourage folks to challenge their biases & beliefs around bodies so they can move closer to self & body acceptance. Teri is the author of 3 books: The Geode Theory: Chipping Away at Body Image, 2200 Characters or Less, and Homecoming: Tales of Travel, Discovery & Self Acceptance - all of which use Teri's experiences with deconstructing shame around bodies, behaviors and business to create roadmaps for the individual to have a reclamation of self. Teri is also the creator of Body Image Bootcamp, a series of workshops & retreats that help women shift their focus from changing their bodies to changing the world and to date, Teri has certified over 65 humans to become facilitators of the course! Teri has been a guest lecturer at various photography conferences including WPPI & The Portrait Masters for her revolutionary approach to embracing the diversity of bodies in the photography industry. Lastly, in 2024 Teri delivered a 13 minute Tedx talk called 5 Reasons You Look Bad in Photos which garnered over half a million views in just 2 months and became one of TED's featured videos on their main website and editor's pick. Overall, Teri's mission, regardless of the medium, is to help folks move in the direction of self acceptance of their authenticity so they can live the lives that they desire, and more importantly, deserve.

Acing Body Image: Using The ACE Method To Help You Shift Your Thoughts About Your Body

Through this presentation, Teri will introduce the attendees to the concept of ACE, a 3 step framework for shifting their mindset when it comes to embracing & accepting their bodies as they are. The attendees will walk away with a better understanding of how their body image is less about their body and more about their mind, the awareness of the inner thoughts that are keeping them stuck, and the actions steps required to redirect themselves towards body liberation.
